Kongsberg Crisis Center operates a crisis center offer for Kongsberg, Notodden, Numedals municipalities and Øvre-eiker. The shelter in Kongsberg has been in operation for 30 years, and until 2005 it was run mainly by volunteers. In 2010, the new Crisis Center Act was passed, which among other things stated that we also had to have an equal offer for men and the struggle for The shelter started for us.
The municipality and the councilman could not afford to keep the center, they wanted to buy shelter services from other municipalities.
To cut a long story short, the employees rallied together to save the center, we mostly engaged everyone in Kongsberg, teams, associations, ladies in Blues, businesses and politicians, the man in the street. In December 2011, a unanimous municipal council agreed that the shelter should continue and that Kongsberg municipality should building new for us.
